Based in Kilmarnock, 2025 is our 60th year in the trade making us by far the most experienced and longest-serving professional sweeps in Ayrshire.
T.R.C.S. was founded by Mr T Reid Snr back in 1965, after he had learned the trade skills whilst working for Kilmarnock & Loudon borough council. When the council stopped providing their free sweep service as part of tenancy agreements; a niche presented itself, which he grew to give our family a modest living for the next 46 years.

In 2012, Tom Reid took over T.R.C.S. and has been steering the ship firmly into the 21st century ever since. Tom endeavors to keep abreast of modern techniques, most recently in 2019 undergoing full professional (City & Guilds accredited) training in, “advanced fault finding and modern power sweeping methods” at the Rodtech centre in Norfolk.

We now use highly efficient power sweeping equipment and have an infra-red CCTV camera for nest removals and chimney inspections. Tom built this site to try to help educate people, providing insights into real life situations so they can make better informed choices.
Unlike most other sweep websites [that only offer a list of services and with all prices £POA, using some stock photos and contact details] this site aims to give true value to anyone visiting.

• Chimney Power Sweeping: From £75 
• CCTV chimney inspections. From £80
• The supply and fitting (or removal) of chimney pots, china hats, gas caps and all other chimney coverings. From £130 
• Birds Nest Removal (Includes Free CCTV). From £150/ hour
• Chimney stack: cleaning, cementing, pointing and painting. £ P.O.A
• Requests for, “other” jobs, such as Gutter cleaning are also considered and sometimes undertaken, but ONLY in Spring/Summertime so please feel free to ask THEN if we can meet your requirements. £ P.O.A
